Watch out for bad solar

As the saying goes: “If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is…”

And that is certainly how we feel about low cost solar energy “solutions” that often tend to be low quality as well, and end up costing a lot more in the long run.

Last week on our Facebook Page we shared an article about Euro Solar – the biggest seller of solar panels in Australia – who has been forced by the Clean Energy Regulator to surrender small-scale technology certificates (STCs) or replace modules after being found to have installed non-compliant solar panels.

You can read that article here.

We also shared the below podcast which is a great discussion about this issue.

In this Solar Insiders podcast, Morris and RenewEconomy and One Step Off The Grid editor Giles Parkinson discuss some tips for consumers and what to watch out for. It’s essential listening for consumers and the industry alike.
